| The nature of Teak means that it will withstand a lot of abuse, but a little TLC will reap benefits. Your Elegant Teak garden furniture is delivered untreated and will have only the natural colour of the wood. Without treatment, your wooden garden furniture will gradually turn a silver grey colour but, even when this happens, your furniture will still give many years of service. Some cracking and splitting is to be expected. Although Teak Oil will not increase the life of the timber, a regular treatment will slow down the greying effect caused by Ultra Violet rays and will help to prevent stains from seeping into the grain of the timber. The oil will change the colour of the wood somewhat and we would suggest a coat of Teak Oil at least twice a yearonto a clean surface. Teak Oil and Teak Cleaner are readily available from DIY stores. Cleaning with a high pressure hose is not recommended! Teak is generally regarded as the best hardwood for garden furniture because of its stability, durability and resistance to wear. |

The Marlborough teak garden bench is a traditional design, over 100 years old, originally prepared by Sir Edwin Lutyens.
Our bench is a version of the Lutyens design and is a generous 4 seater bench measuring 180cms in length. The
oriental back and rolled arms are typical features of a Lutyens bench and the Marlborough is one of the finest examples.
This bench is solid teak and will be delivered fully assembled. It has not been treated in any way at the factory (other
than kiln drying) and the wood is therefore in its natural condition. You have the option of whether to oil the bench or not.
